WASHINGTON—ASAE has chosen the 12 scholars for the 2018–2020 Diversity Executive Leadership Program (DELP) class. DELP is a two-year program that supports individuals from under-represented identity groups to advance into the ranks of leadership in the association management profession. DELP scholars participate in an accelerated leadership program of education, mentoring, and volunteer service in the association community.

WASHINGTON—Nearly 950 association executives and industry partners gathered together to learn new strategies to build stronger relationships with their members at ASAE’s Marketing, Membership, & Communications Conference (MMCC), May 22-23. Participants took part in 40 education sessions, two keynotes, and three preconference workshops at the Walter E. Washington Convention Center. Total attendance this year was 947.

WASHINGTON—ASAE hosted its Xperience Design Project (XDP), April 19-20, at the Gaylord National® Resort & Convention Center. The two-day event drew 1,512 association professionals and industry partners. They co-created strategies, ideas, and solutions on how to engage attendees through gamification, drive attendance at meetings, and create meaningful partnerships with industry suppliers.

WASHINGTON—From May 23-24, ASAE will hold its first Europe CEO Symposium at the NH Amsterdam Centre in Amsterdam, Netherlands. The CEO Symposium provides CEOs and their newly-elected officers an opportunity to strategize on governance and volunteer culture for the organization. Glenn H. Tecker, chairman and co-CEO of Tecker International, will lead the two-day program.

The Gold Circle Award for Overall Excellence will be announced during ASAE’s 2018 Marketing, Membership & Communications Conference (MMCC), May 22-23, in Washington, DC.

WASHINGTON—As an outgrowth of its new and ongoing ASAE ForesightWorks initiative, the ASAE Foundation has released resources exploring 41 drivers of change facing the association industry. These resources help association professionals not only see but interpret how changes will affect their organizations. The original research was performed by Signature i and Foresight Alliance through support from the ASAE Foundation.

WASHINGTON—From August 18–21, ASAE is expecting more than 6,000 association professionals and industry partners to come together in Chicago for the 2018 ASAE Annual Meeting & Exposition. For this year’s meeting, the opening keynote will be Yancey Strickler, former CEO and Cofounder of Kickstarter and Cofounder of The Creative Independent.

WASHINGTON—From March 11-13, close to 600 association executives and industry partners convened in Colorado Springs for ASAE’s 2018 Great Ideas Conference at The Broadmoor. ASAE had five 25-minute Main Stage speakers, hosted by Choose Chicago, and introduced new design features including: Learning Circles, Braindates, and an offsite Leadership Intensive. ASAE had a total of 593 in attendance.

WASHINGTON—ASAE will present Rep. Debbie Dingell (D-MI) and Rep. Scott Taylor (R-VA) with the 2018 Sentinel Award, and Wendy W. Kavanagh, CAE, president of the Georgia Society of Association Executives (GSAE), with ASAE’s Association Political Leadership Award. The awards will be presented during American Associations Day, March 21, at the ASAE Board Reception. American Associations Day is ASAE’s yearly fly-in to share the association industry’s powerful story with policymakers and their staffs in Washington, D.C.

WASHINGTON—ASAE launches the call for association professionals and industry partners to apply for open positions on the ASAE and the ASAE Foundation Board of Directors to help lead the association dedicated to furthering the profession of association management. There are six open positions: Secretary-Treasurer and five At Large Directors (four At Large and one Industry Partner). All directors selected will serve on the ASAE Board, and two of the four selected will also serve on the ASAE Foundation Board.
